We are a Special Economic Zone designed to drive economic diversification & development Lusaka South Multi Facility Economic Zone was established on 28th June, 2010. It is a Special Economic Zone designed to achieve economic diversification and development of the country. LS-MFEZ has various land uses such as Industrial, Commercial, Residential, Institutions, Research and Development and many more. It is planned to attract both local and foreign firms to invest with a view of promoting manufacturing, stimulation of export activities, technological development, skills transfer, job and wealth creation.

One-Stop Service Centre Functions
LS-MFEZ provides a One-stop Service Centre (OSSC) aimed at providing potential investors with knowledge required to make rational investment decisions in the zone, including an efficient investment process and all related permits and services needed to realize an investment in the LS-MFEZ.
Development Function
LS-MFEZ endeavours to provide fully serviced land to all investors in the zone. This includes road access, sewer/drainage and water connection. The process includes:
  • Site preparations and development including all land administration issues
  • Physical planning and designing working with government and consultants
  • Physical development of the essential infrastructure for LS-MFEZ as set out in the Master Plan and amended from time to time
  • Establishing the essential security, waste management and maintenance service contracts and infrastructure for the zone
  • Contracting investing industries, commercial service agencies, and residential clients for the zone; and
  • Financing some of the costs of the LS-MFEZ Limited from lease contracts and possibly the sale of residential property in the zone.
Management Function
The Management of the Lusaka South Multi Facility Economic Zone Limited takes on the task of the overall Management of the Zone. This includes:
  • Operation and maintenance of the physical infrastructure and infrastructure services – the provision of infrastructure services, including waste management
  • Environmental, social monitoring and management functions
  • Operation and maintenance of common user facilities (exhibition/conference facilities, library and parks
  • Collection of fees, service charges and levies
  • Provision of customer services (including information service on the investment environment and labour market, assistance with investment approval procedure with ZDA)
  • Investment promotion (planning, management, marketing and business development); and
  • Public Relations
